Welcome to The John A. Memorial Charity Golf Scramble!

This outing honors our beloved former high school golf coach, John Alioto. Our unique two-person Parent-Child format allows parents and children to team up for friendly competition. In this spirit, a "parent" can also be a grandparent, stepparent, guardian, or mentor—and "children" can range from age 10 to adulthood. We are grateful for your support and look forward to providing a memorable experience year after year!

Our Mission:

Our mission is simple: provide kids in Wayne County with access to the resources and programming needed to play golf—a game with unlimited benefits and life lessons that can be shared with family, friends, or even strangers of all ages.

Note from the Founders:

As we reflect on our own journeys growing up with the game, it is clear that golf is not nearly as accessible as mainstream sports like football, basketball, or baseball, which often require nothing more than a ball and a local park. To play golf, you need a set of clubs, a bag, balls, tees, a course or safe practice area, money for fees, and transportation. In short, the game requires more time and money than most! 

Our passion is to help remove these barriers so every child has the opportunity to learn the game we love. We are excited to partner with the Orrville Area Boys & Girls Club to expand their golf program, which launched in 2022. The program is growing and currently seeking more volunteers, coaches, and equipment.
